Cómo cambiar una columna PG a NULLABLE TRUE?

¿Cómo puedo lograr esto usando Postgres? He probado el siguiente código, pero no funciona:

ALTER TABLE mytable ALTER COLUMN mycolumn BIGINT NULL;

Del manual fino : 

ALTER TABLE mytable ALTER COLUMN mycolumn DROP NOT NULL;

No hay necesidad de especificar el tipo cuando solo está cambiando la nullability.
