Reorganizar una rama incluyendo todos sus hijos


Tengo la siguiente topología de repositorio Git:

A-B-F (master)
   \   D (feature-a)

Rebasando feature rama Esperaba rebasear todo el subárbol (incluidas las ramas secundarias):

Hace un par de años escribí algo para manejar este tipo de cosas. (Los comentarios para la mejora son, por supuesto, bienvenidos, pero no juzgues demasiado, ¡fue hace mucho tiempo! ¡Ni siquiera conocía a Perl todavía!)

Está destinado a situaciones más estáticas - se configura estableciendo parámetros de configuración de la forma branch.<branch>.autorebaseparent. No tocará ninguna rama que no tenga ese parámetro de configuración establecido. Si eso no es lo que quieres, probablemente podrías hackearlo hasta donde quieras sin demasiados problemas. Me realmente no lo he usado mucho en el último año o dos, pero cuando lo usé, siempre parecía ser bastante seguro y estable, en la medida en que eso es posible con el cambio de base automatizado masivo.

Así que aquí está. Úselo guardándolo en un archivo llamado git-auto-rebase en su PATH. Probablemente también sea una buena idea usar la opción de simulacro (-n) antes de probarlo de verdad. Puede ser un poco más de detalle de lo que realmente desea, pero le mostrará lo que va a tratar de rebase, y en qué. Podría salvarte algo de dolor.

Una cosa que he encontrado, desde que me dirigí originalmente a esto, es que a veces la respuesta es que en realidad no quería rebase en absoluto! Hay algo que decir para comenzar las ramas temáticas en el ancestro común correcto en primer lugar, y no tratar de moverlas hacia adelante después de eso. Pero eso es entre tú y tu flujo de trabajo.

Si es necesario actualizar una fecha de confirmación, se puede usar la variable de entorno GIT_COMMITTER_DATE (manual). También use la opción --format para obtener un nombre de rama sin formato adicional.
